zERO my hERO: jEREMY'S sCHOOL pLAY

Jeremy is in the Third Grade
His Class Performance was this week.

For his class they chose to do
a play about MATH!
Math is Jeremy's favorite subject...
if you don't count RECESS!

The play was set in Roman Times
and the Romans were introduced
to a new numbering system,
using the number ZERO!

This helped the Romans to be able to
do math more efficiently.
...being that we only have
10 fingers
and 10 toes...
this new way of writing numbers
and doing math was
HEROIC!!!

The kids worked with their Drama Coach
in writing words to music.
They had a lot of fun creating this play,
and the kids contributed to the
lyrics as well as the dialogue.

It was really creative and cute!

They also worked with their Dance Teacher
to make up a couple of dances!
[videos of song and dance below]

And with a LOT of help from
the kids we pulled off
baking ??? dozen cookies
for the After Party!

WAY TO GO
Jeremy!!!

“You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences.” ~Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley
