Life Lessons and Playing Ball

You win some, you lose some. Today East lost to Alta.
It was a perfect loss and lesson.
We couldn't have been more proud of the way
these boys congratulated each other on a game well played.
(East, 6; Alta, 10)
Here's the low down.

When someone is life tells you that the other team is going to run circles around you, they will.

When someone in life tells you that the other team is part of a Club,

(the only club in the league)

you will feel less;

feeling less you have already lost.

When someone in life tells you that the other team was best in the league last season,

It won't matter that you are best in the league this season.

What our minds tell us about matter really is where we win or lose.

(Go Gavin, #23)

These boys played their hearts out, as a team. And when they lost, they stood as a team.

Sometimes it is better to not hear what the rest of the world tells us going into our game.

We need to remember who we are, or we lose before we even start.

East Team chant:

Who are, who are, who are we...

We are, we are, we are East!

Life lesson today:

REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE,

and go for it;

no matter what anyone tells you

about the "other" team

(Clarissa spends a fair amount of time cheering her brother on, in between texting, of course.)

Our Big Brother is pretty cool!!!

Good Game Gavin!

“You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences.” ~Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley
