Gavin's Game

injuries???

Gavin is kicker!
Offense ...nice catch!

Defense!

And stay down!!!

I didn't know Gavin could do the splits...

Gavin has really loved football.
Last year they had more players.
A lot of the boys chose to sit on the
Sophmore team this year,
[called playing up]
Gavin was asked by the coach to play up,
and he would have played
with the Sophmores.

He chose to stay with his team,
this has been a difficult choice,
and a hard season.

With so many of his friends choosing
to play up....and then being benched,
[the Sophmore team has 44 players,
most of the boys are sitting the games out.]
...his team grew to twenty.

I say this has been a difficult choice
because Gavins team has dwindled from
20 players....to 15 players.

They need 10 to play,
if all the boys stay in every minute of the game,
and they don't have substitutions...

...do you see where I am going here...?

The first game of the season a boy broke
his collar bone.
The second game,
two boys were suspended for fighting....

The third game, someone pulled a tendon,

The forth the quarterback broke his collar bone.

This last game pictured here
ended in forfeit.

As our team watched the other team sub in
offense and defense, with 40 PLUS
players....yikes.

I guess that is what happens inner city, right???

Our undefeated World Continental Champions
team had three more injuries
[another broken collar bone,
possibly a broken arm,
and a concussion]

add these to the two
pictured above,

...leaving them with only 9 healthy players,
not enough.

Parent meeting tonight.
We decide what to do.

Do we forfeit the rest of the season?

Only time will tell.

“You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences.” ~Pres. Gordon B.
