CoNgRAtuLaTIonS GAVIN and JOSH!!!!

What can be done with scraps of paper, a great friend, some good thinking, and about 23 hours of homework....

First of all they spent six straight hours
cutting tiny pieces of paper from magazines...

Then they spent another.....??? hours gluing them....

[This is his THINKING pose!!!]

...thinking...
my back is killing me!
why did we think this would be easy?
ARE WE EVER GOING TO FINISH??!!!!

the BRIDGE....

Project: A competition in the Language courses
at East High School.

Every student taking a language class,
including ENGLISH...sooo, pretty much every student

had to submit a poster.

The posters would be voted upon in classes,
grade level, and school wide...

The theme was:
A picture is worth a thousand words....

The idea was to create something that
could be understood by all languages and cultures!

Their idea was "Bridge the YAP!!!"

...while we speak a thousand languages...
the meaning is the same...

Ich liebe dich ...

Rakastan sinua ...

Te Amo...

I love you...

No matter how you say it!!!!

...see the bridge...
see the sun....
...sun setting across the water...
...see the palm tree...
...see the smile in Gavins eyes...
knowing he did his very best,

and wondering what the outcome of tomorrow brings...

Gavin,
I liked to thank you for the great poster!
I hope that wins your poster.

I wish you the best! Thank you!

[from Ms. Daunhauser, his German teacher]

Gavin and his friend Josh
submitted their poster last week
after many nights of
hard work and thinking...

Their poster WON in their German class...

Then it WON against the rest of their grade...

Then it WON against the finalists in the school....

And now it will be going to STATE competition!!!

Yeah Gavin and Josh!
Put the two of their heads together

and you get genius!!!

“You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences.” ~Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley
