Blue and Gold Banquet

Cub Scout Pockets
was the theme for this months program.

Pockets really made
for a fun filled evening for the boys.

The tables were covered in stuff boys
put in their pockets.

The dinner was Pita Pockets,
parents brought fillings,
leaders brought desserts.

The boys each were given a word from
the Boy Scout law:

A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.

They had to write what the word they
were given means to them in their family.
They each got up and read their word and meaning.

Then the scout leader read a letter that

was written by the parents to the boys.

[Sam and Jeremy's letters are below.]

They were given a pocket full of little prizes after their
letter was read.
Sam is a very conscientious person.
Always aware of others around him.

If Sam notices someone feeling sad
he is the first to try to cheer you up,

or to lend a hand in getting something done.

He can be very focused on things that he wants to accomplish.
He will carry his responsibilities out with a high level of intensity.
He takes a real satisfaction in the things he has done.

Mom and Dad like to share his moments of accomplishment with him.

It brings him a real sense of belonging as we celebrate these times.
Sam plays soccer, he is really good at all sports including football, basketball, and skateboarding.

Sam enjoys math and sciences, he always diligently gets to his homework until it is done so that he has time for other things.

He enjoys flying his model airplane, skateboarding, and is really good at writing stories.

Sam is very creative, he loves to draw and read. Sam recently has picked up a real interest in reading, sitting for long periods of time lost in pages.

Sam really enjoys his big brothers attention and time spent hanging out with him. He will even get up at 5:30 for breakfast and scriptures just to be with his big brother before early morning seminary.

He is also a very good big brother to Jeremy, setting a good example in the things that will bring happiness to Jeremy. He shows Jeremy how to do many things and encourages him as he is learning.

Sam is a funny kid, always bringing smiles and laughs to his big sister.

He is very aware of each person in the family and always tries to help out and to offer his love.

He gives the best hugs.

Jeremy is a dreamer.
He likes to imagine.
He spends time and thoughts coming up with who he will be,
and what he wants to do.
He plans to be an Art Teacher and a Scientist for now.

He likes to dream about vacations we have been on,
things he has done, and recall events of the past.

Jeremy's dreaming is sparked often by many of his collections.
Jeremy has many little things he has collected in his years.
Of his collections he takes a special interest in buttons, coins, legos, rocks, little cars, and anything tiny for that matter.

Jeremy is a delightful addition to our family.
He is the youngest and he completes us.
He is tender and sensitive, he is thoughtful and brave.
He brings an element of surprise to every situation, whether that be a comment, a smile, or a good laugh.
If there is a joke or laughter to be had Jeremy is one to try it out on his family.

Jeremy is a jokster;
constantly teasing and bring a tear of happiness,

or pain when the teasing has gone too far.

Jeremy is fun to watch, he easily picks up on jokes and simple funny things and seems to take delight in them.

We enjoy his thinking process as he seems to analyze everything and comes up with the most random things to say.

He gets the best of even Gavin at times, and can easily make Clarissa smile and scream.
He loves to spend time with his older brother Sam playing football, skateboarding, or building things.
Jeremy has played soccer and baseball.

He is looking forward to football this fall.

Jeremy is a good catch and he throws a ball well too.

i am still LOL about Sam's outfit. We literally RAN from soccer to scouts. He only got half of his clothes changed. So cute with soccer from the waist down, scout's waist up. ...what is important is what is in that boys heart...so sweet ♥

“You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences.” ~Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley
