Sam's Back to school Letter to Mrs. Lane

Dear Mrs. Lane,

I’m very excited to be in your class this year. I’m going to learn a lot this year. I’ll have so much fun. My best friends are Petr and Elijah. Elijah and I work together really good. I want to sit next to him this year. I’m really looking forward to have fun in school.

I do like reading books, writing. I like keeping things neat, going places, animals, and basketball. But I don’t like hockey so much. Math is my favorite. I can’t wait to have hot chocolate, and go on hikes. I like popcorn and making new friends.

I have always wanted to learn more about rocks. I like rocks a lot and I have a big collection. I get along with others kind of well. Going to the Principles office worries me the most about school. I worry sometimes because Petr and I get in trouble so I need to not sit by Petr or even close to Petr or I will get in trouble. Waiting to eat sometimes gives me trouble too.

Some things about me are that I like making things, I like going fishing. I love skateboarding and I like Reeces Pieces. I like reading books. I like to be funny and sometimes to be really funny. But just sometimes. Sometimes I am serious. I really care a lot about people and I will want to take care of other people, especially if they are sad or need friends. I like Twix’s. And I like taking pictures. And I like football and soccer. I like to go lots of places: like Yellowstone, Moab, Fish Lake, the cabin in Pinewood Mountain, hiking and looking for rocks. I am a Scout and I like it. I like chess.

I hope I will be a good student this year.

Sincerely,
Samuel James Lawrence

“You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences.” ~Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley
