Gavins paper - What America Means To Me

America means to me that I have the opportunity to enjoy freedom. America will

allow me to have my freedoms if I choose to obey the laws of this wonderful country.

The freedom in which I desire to have can be taken away from if I choose not to follow

the regulations of living here. When people come to America from a different country

they have to learn the rules of living in a new country.

Our country has the human rights which explain our freedoms. One of our rights

as a person is: we have the opportunity to worship who we want and when we

would like to. Another grand opportunity that we enjoy is being able to receive education.

The last one I will say is that we are all treated equal, no one before another. So each

person deserves to receive education, worship how they want, and we should all treat

each other as equal, because we are.

Freedom means so much to me because it means I get to choose how I would like

to spend my lifetime upon this earth. My ancestors came to America because they wanted

Freedom, they wanted to be treated equal and to choose who they wanted to be. If my

grandparents would not have came to America when they did I would probably be living

in an entire different country, I’d probably be living a completely different life. I’m glad

I live in America.

“You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences.” ~Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley
