Anniversary's

Oh how I love Brian's and my anniversary. It is such a pleasure every year to look forward to the enjoyable time that we will have together. We have had the best of times celebrating together. This is our 14th year, 15 since the beginning of our dating....

Amazing to me.

I wanted to record our Anniversary events from last year. The kids are old enough now that celebrating our being married is just as important to them, and they took over.

We were given a note that we were to pack our bags for one night and report to the Anniversary Inn. Upon arrival we were told that the room chosen, by our children, was the August room. The kids had actually toured a few of the bed and breakfasts in Salt Lake and personally chosen their favorite room for us. This particular room was amazing. It had a hidden stairwell that went up to the attic of the mansion, where there was a jetted tub. Clarissa had earned and paid extra for us to have the romantic package, important to her being a girl. We had rose petals on the floor, the bed, the stairs, all the way up to the tub. We had chocolates and apple cider. It was very thoughtful. I think that I enjoyed the artwork in the building, and Brian enjoyed the architecture, as well as enjoying each other.

The following morning we were given an envelope, which indicated that we were to be to Lindsay Gardens by 11am. When we arrived there the kids were playing on the swings and ran to give us love. They wanted to know how fun our time was, if we liked the room, the tub, the treats, and the breakfast. Clarissa said that she had parked across the street to watch us arrive. She was so excited.

We were given another envelope which sent us on to a pre-paid lunch, where we were presented with another envelope, that directed us to the U of U Union Bowling. Here the kids awaited, yet again, to greet us. We bowled there with them, and were given instructions to go to a movie, or shopping afterwards and be home promptly at 6pm.

When we arrived at home, the children had helped Aunt Colleen to prepare a dinner for us, they served us very professionally, and respectfully a romantic dinner. I think we were in such awe of them, being so thoughtful of us as a couple. They were beautifully presented in their best dress, and had all the manners of the best of waiter/tresses! Amazing.

I don't think Brian or I could ever plan a better event; past, present, or future. Thank you to our amazing little people. (and to Colleen and Mel for their support of the children planning, paying for(earning the event over months of chores), and teaching our children to be so kind.) Love you!

“You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences.” ~Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley
