Why are we Trippin?

Taking road trips can be confusing for kids. Helping Zoe to get packed in the car to head home from Fish Lake, explaining to her that she was just taking a road trip, she ponders, and asks: "Why are we trippin?"Time to go home. Doesn't Zoe look so sad:(

Rebelling Against My Mother...by clarissa

Since my mother has refused to put any pictures of my family (on the family blog) I just thought that I would let you know what the Lawrence's are doing....
My mom has been in school doing great but being a great mom.... Me (Clarissa)
I am in the 6th grade.
One thing about our family is that my mom puts MnM's in our ears
and it means Mommy Loves Me. We get a lot of MnM's.

This is us the night before christmas in our new pajamas we get on Christmas Eve. And we still don't have our Christmas cards sent out yet so don't wait, it will be a long time.
Below, Sam has Emma on his shoulders at the Cabin
in Fish Lake during her "pre-biting"days. Go Emma!!! This is Sam in Gavin's football jersey.
Gavin is huge in this outfit.
Sam is in 4th grade.
Sam is in football and soccer, and he plays piano and goes to scouts.
He is a funny brother and kind of really annoying. This is a picture of my dad. He went to Alaska on a fishing excursion and caught a million big fish. Now our freezer is full of fish. He is a really good dad and is really doing good at work too.
Doesn't he look like a banana in his yellow suit. Clarissa (me) sleeping on the roof at Fish Lake.
It was like having a star blanket, and it was very soft, you should try it.

Jeremy has been a bit of a sneak lately. He is cute and in the 2nd grade.

Gavin is playing football (# 23, above), he made a touchdown after that picture. Gavin is in the eighth grade. You can see more pictures and video of Gavin's team on East's team blog: http://eastfb.blogspot.com/.

So, that's all folks, for now. I like looking at your families pictures. I hope you like our blog, whatever. clarissa

Gavin's Game against Granger

Gavin has the white shoes and you can see his face in this picture.
What a pretty (scary) scene!

Gavin is the one that is totally slanted;
in the front, with the black arm bands.

Gavin made a touchdown, he is #23.
East totally creamed the other team; it was 24-0.
Gavin is on East, his team WON!!!

We are so glad that the X-man didn't crush anyone.
(X-men have to wear an X on their helmet
and they can not carry the ball.
They weigh too much.)

For more pictures and video from Gavin's games,

If You Can't Change Your Attitude, Change Your Circumstances

To make a very long story, short. I dropped my classes, picked up some that I can enjoy, and others that I just have to take, and alas, all is feeling well.

Art
Brazillian Capoeira....yes, again
Film Critic
Computer Essentials (I have avoided this course, but needing it to move on I am finally giving in.)

Maybe I will get to spend more time in my kids classrooms with this schedule, rather than the nightmare I was facing. I am already looking forward to the 4th grade curriculum, the field trips, etc., with Sam; to Gavin's 8th grade year, how many events can I come to without embarrassing him; Clarissa and her fabulous 6th grade experience; and my baby, Jeremy, my last shot at the 2nd grade. Lets hope we make it.

I can breathe.

Sam's Back to school Letter to Mrs. Lane

354 South 1300 East
Salt Lake City, Utah 84102
August 26, 2008

Dear Mrs. Lane,

I’m very excited to be in your class this year. I’m going to learn a lot this year. I’ll have so much fun. My best friends are Petr and Elijah. Elijah and I work together really good. I want to sit next to him this year. I’m really looking forward to have fun in school.

I do like reading books, writing. I like keeping things neat, going places, animals, and basketball. But I don’t like hockey so much. Math is my favorite. I can’t wait to have hot chocolate, and go on hikes. I like popcorn and making new friends.

I have always wanted to learn more about rocks. I like rocks a lot and I have a big collection. I get along with others kind of well. Going to the Principles office worries me the most about school. I worry sometimes because Petr and I get in trouble so I need to not sit by Petr or even close to Petr or I will get in trouble. Waiting to eat sometimes gives me trouble too.

Some things about me are that I like making things, I like going fishing. I love skateboarding and I like Reeces Pieces. I like reading books. I like to be funny and sometimes to be really funny. But just sometimes. Sometimes I am serious. I really care a lot about people and I will want to take care of other people, especially if they are sad or need friends. I like Twix’s. And I like taking pictures. And I like football and soccer. I like to go lots of places: like Yellowstone, Moab, Fish Lake, the cabin in Pinewood Mountain, hiking and looking for rocks. I am a Scout and I like it. I like chess.

I hope I will be a good student this year.

Sincerely,
Samuel James Lawrence

Starting School AGAIN

Didn't we just do this? I am suppose to be in Biology and have already had it with school. I need an attitude adjustment.

Mamma Mia- video Gimme, Gimme, Gimme

Found this video and really loved it. The quality is better on vh1, and others like mtv if you can find it.

“You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences.” ~Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley
